GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Determine if you are eligible
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:
1) Be African American
2) Have a grade point average between 2.0 –3.0
3) Reside in Santa Clara County
4) Plan to attend a 2- or 4-year college or university
Deadline: The application must be postmarked by March 15, 2020. Award recipients will be notified by May, 2020.
Step 2: Complete the application
All documents must be submitted by the deadline. Applications that are, complete or incomplete and, received after the due date will not be considered for the scholarship. It is essential that you include a photograph no larger than 4 x 6 inches in color or black and white with your completed application.
Step 3: Obtain references
Using the enclosed reference forms, please submit one reference (from persons not related to you) with your completed application. Applications received without a reference will not be considered for this cycle.
Step 4: Obtain Transcript
An official-sealed high school transcript

Selection process:
Selection will be based upon compliance with basic eligibility requirements set forth by the Links Incorporated, San Jose (CA) Chapter selection committee. Finalist will be invited to attend a scholarship interview. All candidates are required to attend the interview.
Fund distribution:
Upon verification of selection by the Links Executive Board and chapter members, recipients will be notified by letter. Scholarship checks will be mailed upon receipt of proof of enrollment. The scholarship recipient will be awarded two payments of $1,000.00. (Fall and Spring semesters)
